About C-Dock

C-Dock is rooted in analog youth culture — before everything went digital.

C-Dock comes from a real place, a dock in Sausalito, California – the address where my wife used to live on a houseboat. That name has stayed with me for years. It felt right for a brand rooted in a specific place and time, and that carries that same coastal, analog spirit forward.

I grew up in San Francisco. My teenage years landed squarely in the late ’70s and throughout the ’80s that shaped a certain kind of independence. Neighborhood record stores, roller skating at Golden Gate Park, skateboarding all over the city, drives to the beach, metal shows on Broadway, and late night FM Radio. That era had a visual language to it: rock tees and ringer tees, bold graphics, the kind of shirt you picked up at a local shop or concerts and wore it until it fell apart.

The graphics draw from that world — not as nostalgia, but as continuation. I couldn’t find those shirts anywhere. So I started making them myself. They’re extensions of a world that shaped a lot of us, and never really went away. The collection is for people who were there – and for people who wish they were.

These aren’t reproductions. They’re extensions of something that never disappeared.

Each piece is made to order. That means no overstock, no warehouse, no shortcuts — just a shirt made when you order it.

The Print: Premium DTG (Direct-to-Garment) Tech

The Texture

We don’t do heavy, plastic-feeling graphics that stick to your chest in the summer. Our designs are printed using high-end DTG technology, which infuses specialized water-based matte inks directly into the fabric’s raw cotton fibers. The result? A zero-texture, ultra-soft hand feel where you feel the garment, not the print.

  • The Finish: A completely flat, retro matte look that blends seamlessly with the vintage texture of the shirt.
  • The Breathability: Because the ink embeds into the weave rather than sitting on top like a solid sheet, the fabric breathes perfectly whether you’re at a crowded show or out in the desert heat.
  • The Evolution: Unlike modern plastisol prints that crack and peel off in big ugly chunks, DTG prints age beautifully with the cotton, fading naturally over time for a flawless analog patina.

The Blank: Comfort Colors 1717 Heavyweight

The Feel

This isn’t your average, stiff promotional tee. We print on premium, 100% ring-spun cotton that has undergone a specialized garment-dye and soft-wash process. What does that mean for you? It means the shirt arrives with a naturally muted, lived-in color palette and an ultra-soft texture. It hangs with a heavy, structured, boxy silhouette that throws it straight back to the early ’80s skate and street culture.

  • The Weight: A solid 6.1 oz per square yard—thick enough to hold its shape, breathable enough to live in.
  • The Color: Garment-dyed shades that look like they’ve spent a summer fading in the West Coast sun.
  • The Build: Twill-taped neck and shoulders with double-needle stitching. It’s built like a tank.

Care Instructions (Built for the Long Haul)

We make gear that’s meant to be worn, beaten up, and washed a thousand times. Because of the traditional garment-dye process, these shirts require just a tiny bit of initial respect to ensure the vintage colors age perfectly with you.

  • The First Wash: Wash it by itself, or with like colors, in cold water before you wear it. (Garment dyes can slightly migrate during the very first cycle).
  • The Routine: Turn the shirt inside out, wash cold, and tumble dry on low heat.
  • The Golden Rule: Skip the bleach and the heavy detergents. Let the ink and the fabric age naturally—the more you wear it, the better it looks.

Not retro. Not costume. Just the kind of shirt you would have bought back then.
